Budapest, Hungary

If you're after the sophistication of Paris in Central Europe, go to Budapest. Rightly called the Paris of Central Europe, Budapest is a city that straddles two worlds - the West and its luxury, the Old World and its long line of rich, diverse history. Budapest easily fuses cosmopolitan living and old world gentility.

You will never run out of sights to see and things to do in this city by the Danube. There's the Tomb of Gul Baba, Saint Stephen's Basilica, the beautiful Szabadsag ter, Andrassy Avenue, Buda Castle, the Palace of Arts and National Theatre, and the biggest synagogue in Europe, the Dohany Street Synagogue and its weeping willow statue. You will have your fill of museums, romantic scenery, verdant parks, and Turkish-style baths, too. Oh yes, history and beauty walk hand in hand in Budapest.

Budapest, Hungary is one of Central Europe's largest cities and has both the old-world charms of Eastern Europe and the modern amenities of Western Europe.

Budapest straddles the Danube River, which divides it into two distinct cities: the historic Buda of the west bank and the more cosmopolitan Pest on the east bank. Within Buda is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Castle Hill.
