The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a small, landlocked country covering just 2,586 square kilometers, with a population of just under half a million people. It is situated right at the heart of Western Europe, bordering Belgium, Germany and France.
It’s capital, Luxembourg city, is one of the wealthiest cities in the world for a start. It is a major and growing European centre for banking with over 150 credit institutions. What’s more, it’s also an administrative hub, home to the European Court of Justice and the European Investment Bank. Since 2007 Luxembourg has been linked by high-speed rail (the LGV Est) to Paris: the journey takes just 2h 05!
